No, She’s Not Going To Turn Out To Be Romana GuysPosted by Dorian in Doctor Who, fan service
(For those keeping track, that was an era of the show that new show-runner Steven Moffat has praised.)
Uhm, yeah, thanks for that not at all slightly creepy endorsement there, Steve. I guess the Straight Agenda is already rearing its ugly head. Oh, well, why fight fate. Here you go, straight boys: At least she’s not dry-humping a Dalek in that shot. As it is with every new season, the rumor the return of The Rani to Doctor Who has reared its head. Now, I’m probably opening myself up to a complete loss of credibility here, but…I actually kind of like the Rani. In theory. Her premiere in The Mark of the Rani Ah well. But just because the Rani hasn’t been done well before, that doesn’t mean that she can’t be done well in the future! And so, let’s take a quick look at some of the leading contenders for the role, and why it may or may not be a good idea to cast them.
With bonus inexplicable punch-line.
Click here for a larger detail if you need a hint. (And no, the problem with this picture isn’t that it’s the illustration for a story about Conan traveling to Earth-2 to meet his other-dimensional twin Konar, King of Aquiloria and his wife, Zenoria.) (No, I’m not making that up…that’s really the plot of the story…it’s almost as goofy as the issue where Conan and Robert E. Howard team-up to fight evil Mexicans…)
