Night Shift, 1986 ed., Stephen King
This is the book that gave us “The Mangler,” “Sometimes They Come Back,” “The Lawnmower Man,” “Children of the Corn,” the stories from Cat’s Eye that aren’t about the troll, and of course the story that was the basis for Maximum Overdrive.
That’s more terrible films per page than any other book!

This review reminds me of a review of the movie At Long Last Love. I can’t find the review, so I will have to paraphrase…
Cole Porter’s songbook is so wonderful and simple, it makes you think anyone can sing it. At Long Last Love proves that this is not the case.
Maximum Overdrive may not be a good movie, but I just can’t bring myself to hate a film that features a soda vending machine assaulting a little league team.
