Over at The Bureau Chiefs, Ken Lowery and I take our monthly look at trailers for upcoming films. It’s not just me, right, this has been a rough summer for films, hasn’t it?
Since one of the films we looked at is Mark Wahlberg’s move back to comedy, The Other Guys, I thought I’d share a picture from the days when we had no idea he’d eventually star in a film about homicidal foliage.

Dorian… how can any one not be into Scott Pilgrim?! ;)
In all seriousness though. I only read book one, and while I liked it…I never got around to the rest. So I am somewhere in the middle. But the film has me admittedly excited. I’ve gone from liking Cera to feeling lukewarm towards his singular role (much as Jesse Eisenberg seems to have one role). I don’t know if Scott Pilgrim cements or breaks the rut…
As far as Pirhana 3-D…I don’t know that I am all that interested in paying to see it in 3-D, but I confess the pure camp that the film seems to embrace (based on early stuff I have read) and the cast has me intrigued. Although, between the 9 minute comic con preview and some trailers on TV, I know who some of the name characters are that die…and it kind of irritates me that I won’t be surprised when certain guys become fish chow. And Eli Roth gets crushed by a boat. I can get behind that.
