Because, seriously, you don’t know where it’s been. Have you seen the way they clean themselves, or what they eat?

Is this some kind of euphemism?

  2. Sallyp says:

Gah! I love this book, it’s one of my favorites! There actually is a cat in it, but it’s not what you think.

I’m with Sallyp. That’s one of my favorites of Mary Stewart’s romances. In fact, I may be inspired to reread it this afternoon.

Does it have anything to do with the Scottish? With the Chattan confederation? ‘Cause that is all I can think of (every family in the Chattan Confederation has a cat in their crest and have variations of “touch not this cat” as their motto…)
Or am I just an uber nerd?

  5. Le says:

No worries, Vicky, that’s exactly what I though of, too.
So at the very least, you aren’t alone in your ubernerddom.

  6. Sallyp says:

Vicky, funny you should bring that up. Pick this up at your local library, you won’t be sorry.

OMG, my wife and I visited a Scottish castle where the motto was “Touch not the cat bot a glove”. “Bot” apparently means “without”, but this did not stop the two of us running around going into giggles saying “Touch not the cat-bot!”

Hrm, I know we were up around Cluny, but I’m not sure that was the place.

Does this have anything to do with the comic title; “Touch Not the Priestess”?
