What on earth is that mass of gray fur in a deerstalker? And why is it attacking a dog that’s humping a tree? (BTW, I was at a holiday party last weekend where two male dogs were basically 69-ing on the living room floor in front of everyone. And they were both fixed, too. Love will find a way, I suppose.)
Elsie–There are none currently in print, though you can sometimes find the Fantagraphics books. There were supposed to be deluxe editions coming out from Fantagraphics, in the “Complete Peanuts” style, but they’ve been indefinitely delayed from what I understand.
BN–It’s Beuregard Bugleboy, wearing Spanish Moss as a disguise, sneaking up on the swamp children because he believes they are planning to murder one another. Obviously.
(The tricky thing with Pogo, and why I don’t dip into the well too often, is that Walt Kelly never drew a panel that, by itself, wasn’t funny, and was still funnier in context.)

Do you know if there are any Pogo books currently in print? I’ve been hoping to find one as a present for my brother, but I haven’t had much luck.
