What’s really horrifying is that this may be one of the best Baen book covers I’ve ever seen. Their Carmen Miranda is surprisingly true-to-life!

I don’t understand why you express such horror at this. Clearly if there’s even ONE story in the anthology about Carmen Miranda’s ghost haunting a space station then this might be one of the greatest moments of sci-fi ever.

Or it could be a metaphor for the hidden racial tensions simmering underneath a star-trekesque post-ethnic utopia. Which would be a letdown but still competent.

I actually gave this props when it came out for the title alone, and while (as with any collection) not all the stories worked for me, overall I thought it was a fun read.

And the lyrics for the song were a crack up, if memory serves.
