If I came off as trying to tell you how to write your blog – I’m sorry. I was just voicing a complaint about one aspect of a website that I otherwise totally enjoy. In other words, it’s MY problem, not yours.

Also about the whole Sims thing… If I was going to kill myself I think I would do it in a painless manner! Besides, telling him that would be disagreeing with myself.

Also Bah is completely correct. If you let creeps ruin something for you, they’ve won. Don’t let them win. There are enough good comic books (even superhero comics!!!!!!) that it’s easy to just ignore, ignore, ignore.

I remember when Deadpool was a relatively obscure character who starred in a funny comic written by Joe Kelly. I think a lot of people still have affection for him based on that. I totally agree with you on every point but the “NERDS!!! THEY RUIN EVERYTHING!” humour is kind of wearing thin (for me) right now. The jokes write themselves and I could make quite a nice bit of pocket change betting on whether or not there will be a joke like that when I come to check your site. I get it, weird people with messed up priorities are weird and have messed up priorities.

I adore Monty Python, so I’m biased, but it was the endless, pointless, unfunny parroting of the Matrix that ruined the whole franchise for me, thanks to obsessive nerds I can’t watch any of it anymore. They really do ruin everything.

Missing the point seems to be something nerds do exceedingly well. Matter of fact, it seems to be the only thing they do well, since they can’t understand any points made by the actual authors and just try to fit everything into their preconceived notions of how things should work.

See, I can understand that Python fans get annoying, but that doesn’t make the actual work any less outstanding. I mean, last year after I read the Gospels for the first time, I watched Passion of the Christ to see how it was interpreted, followed by Last Temptation; and when I ended that week with Life of Brian… let’s just say it was exactly what was needed.

It actually occurs to me that any character created to parody or satirize the “dark and edgy” movement will inevitably become part of that movement.

Punisher was a villain at first, now he’s a cool anti-hero. Lobo was a parody of Wolverine, now he’s taken seriously (by some.) Now Magog. It’s like we repeatedly miss the point.
