The ones that seem most unlikely to me? Crocodile (I have heard of 100 years…but *300*?), Carp (I know they are scum sucking bottom feeders…but still), the Swan and Eagle (is there evidence of any bird-I mean outside of the rarely seen giant thunderbirds-that have exibited nearly that long of a life span?).
Oh, and don’t Lion come out of the ground every seventeen years, eat, mate and die?
I think this art may be redrawn from a piece I saw in a volume of my mom’s old 1940s vintage “How And Why Library.” Only, scientists of that ancient era thought that whales might live 500 years!
