That film lied to me. A&M isn’t all about the dancing, showering, and sexual adventure.

  2. Yeah, if it were all jockstrap-clad football players prancing (seriously, those fellows are prancing in that last picture) in the locker room, I don’t think you would have left Texas with such relief, GayProf.

  3. Dolly Parton is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

I was about to insist that the number “Black Boys”/”White Boys” in HAIR is, in fact, the most homoerotic dance number in film history–absolutely NO subtext there–but then I remembered that all the dancing is done by women. The soldiers ogling the naked recruits remain seated throughout the number (presumably because standing up would be a little embarrassing). So, it loses on a technicality.

  5. I really need to see thsis movie. I just watched 9 to 5 for the tenth time and thought about how awesome Dolly is.

  6. I also need to learn to type better.

  7. Oh-so-sorry, but the most homoerotic dance number in history goes to “Can’t Stop the Music” for their “YMCA” number. No subtext, really, but getting Bruce Jenner to participate in a pair of come-F-me shorts and a half shirt was clearly the coup of the 1970’s.
