The Chesire Cat one... we straight men *are* the Chesire Cat :)

That and the cute girl wearing a sexy Robin costume are the only ones I'll bother to defend. Cute girls wearing sexy versions of anything work, because breasts make everything better. Sort of like the three cute girls dressed up as sexy Daleks, which I think you posted here before.

We straight men probably don't find the Daleks sexy, but cute girls wearing sexy Dalek costumes makes that image work for us.

As a straight man who doesn't find that stuff particularly appealing (having five older sisters and a daughter has a huge impact on how one reflects to objectification of women) I must also wonder what in hell is wrong with the women who associate themselves with "underpants trading cards."

Having bought a few import videogames in my time, I get the weekly PlayAsia mailout, including the blurb for imported manga and anime related toys, and reading the text for those, which try to describe the kit-models-of-bikini-clad-imaginary-fifteen-year-old-girls in the most innocent terms possible, is quite an odd thing.

<i>"A statue of the Chesire Cat staring at a woman’s naked ass. Really?"</i>

Isn't that pose a reference to something? Some sort of old US advertising thing? Coppertone?

*Googles*

...yep. He's biting and tugging at her knickers, and <i>turning them invisible at the same time.</i>

Jeepers.

I like women, and even the half naked kind in the right context...but I have to say...I am contemplating turning in my hetero license.

I don't know, I think if I was straight I would find at least some if not all of that pretty sexy. Especially the Witchblade piece (if that's what that is; I'm not sure); I mean, she's almost naked right? And isn't that really the main appeal for a lot of people, gratuitous skin? Regardless of how laughably absurd the context?
Consider the Brian Bolland artwork: Why should anyone find a drawing of a guy in jean cut-offs swinging on a vine amidst a bunch of chimps sexy? A lot of people wouldn't maybe, but I sure do, cuz it's a pretty fit, nearly naked guy, swinging right at me crotch akimbo!

Whoa, hey, don't be lumping all us straight men together. I have no idea either why anybody would want to buy any of that shit.

Way back in the 90's I used to work in a comic book/baseball card store in a small southern town. The store was owned and run by the daughter of a southern preacher, so naturally we were kept afloat through sales of porn collecting cards. Seriously, I think we sold sets of hustler and penthouse cards to about 70% of the town's police.

Anyway, we also sold those "Benchwarmer" cards, they were cheerleader and fitness models mostly in cheesecake shots. Who would buy Benchwarmers when they could have their prurient interests satisfied by penthouse or hustler? Well, the only people I ever saw buy them were two Mormon kids who'd ride up to the mall on their bikes in shirtsleeves and ties. Once, they came in to buy a few packs (I don't remember if you got gum with the packs, but I hope not) and left, only to immediately return to the store and ask to use the phone. It seems in their rush to get to the store they had neglected to lock up their bikes, and someone had stolen them.

Not really relevant to the "What's wrong with straight men" theme, but I so rarely get to tell my benchwarmers story I couldn't resist the opportunity.

I am wondering, if it's by coincidence that the purple-hued foreleg of the Cheshire cat looks a little...tumescent.
