Is it the overall worship of phallic powers of manliness (“ahoy soldier” etc)? Or the homosocial relationships/obsessions and killing off women in order to bring the guy back into the boys club and “get his attention”? (’cause that reminded me of Mission Impossible 3 and Usual Suspects — and, well, most comics)
Mick–It’s pretty much the manly-man homosocial stuff going on in there. “Getting his attention” is damn near approaching “Sabretooth is secretly in love with Wolverine” levels of subtext.
I’m looking forward to this movie so much. Seriously. I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be the gayest mainstream movie ever made.
You should do audio commentary to play during the trailers in the theater, man. You made the film much more interesting than all of their material put together…
