Wow, I was pretty surprised to see me mentioned when stopping by postmodernbarney.com, as I do daily. Surprised, and a little bummed out. I don’t really feel the need to respond to every Newsarama poster who misreads something, but I’m surprised that that offended you because, frankly, I expected better from you.

I mean, “Gay-baiting?” Really? That was gay-baiting? Seven words making fun of the fact that hey, superheroes seem kinda gay (something that what, 20% of your own posts do?) and making fun of the impulse of making fun of superheroes for seeming kinda gay itself?

If so then, yes, I admit it, this particular comic book nerd does not, in fact, get it. You haven’t explained it to me before though, patiently or otherwise, nor has anyone else. So go for it: How is that offense? How is it gay-baiting? What was sad and wrong about my posting those dozen words?
